Pioneer D-Series speakers are available in 2-way component packages or 2-way coaxial designs in multiple sizes that fit most vehicles. The woofers have dual-layer IMX (Injection Molded Matrix) Aramid/Basalt fiber composite cones. The Basalt fiber is made from natural rock and is interwoven with aramid fiber. This Aramid/Basalt fiber surface layer material is very rigid and maintains an accurate, detailed music reproduction. The 1-1/8" Soft Dome Tweeters, each speaker has a 1-1/8" soft dome tweeter with magnetic fluid and a 0.4 ounce Neodymium magnet. The tweeters are encased in a specially-designed anti-resonant sealed rear chamber. The waveguides in front of the tweeters provide wide sound dispersion. Also, built-in 2-Way Crossovers: A 12 dB/octave high-pass filter and 6 dB/octave low-pass filter are attached to each speaker to improve the transition from mid to high frequency. Audiophile-grade capacitors and inductors are used.
